DANCE FLOOR ROCK N ROLL
BIO
Formed out of the pandemic by country-guitarist turned glam rock singer/songwriter Nick Santa Maria in 2021, The Dirty Shirts are a self-described “Glam Trash Rock n Roll" band mixing the beats and danceability of pop and disco with the energy of early-aught rocks bands like The Strokes and The Killers, wrapped in a cheetah-printed T. Rex/Bowie aesthetic. Starting off in Santa Maria's native Dallas, TX, the band quickly rose from unknown to a sought-after opening act in rapid form due to their high energy shows, sing-along-ready music, and escapism fueled ethos. Releasing their debut album in 2022, and followed by multiple tours and industry showcases, the band spent 2023 releasing a number of singles and writing their next record. After three years of growing in Dallas, the band relocated to Los Angeles in early 2024 to gain inspiration in a new surrounding and establish themselves as a truly national act. With a new record in the bag (recorded at both Dallas’ Modern Electric Sound Recorders and Foo Fighters’ Studio 606 in LA) and following an Official SXSW 2024 showcase, the band hopes to make a splash in their new home, and add to an already vibrant and historic music scene.
